Forecasting .....

Hmmmm I had a lecture or two about forecasting I was wondering if it was that simple whyyy would the credit crisis arise ....... Why could it not be avoided .....

Lets take the bayesian network ..... and apply it to the mortgage scenario ....

if I know that the mortgage I am accepting is risky and I lend money on that ...Given the risk associated with the mortgage I should be able to identify the probability of return of investment on the mortgage. I was wondering why was it not used ??? I came with a dream to study Business Intelligence systems but I wonder why is it not used in Business ...CRAZYYYYYY

i just attended a Information session ..... and the recruiter did not know that BI is a subsidiary of Information Technology !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I wonder to satisfy my love for these expert systems either I would have to do a PHD in these systems or I would have to nip the bud in the bed :(

MTN and RCOM story “a potential combination of their businesses”

As an outsider to the whole hoopla created for this deal I derive it would create a global telecom giant with close to 120 million subscribers that has a footprint stretching from the Cape of Good Hope to the Himalayas across 23 countries and covering a population of two billion, a third of the world thanks to the newspaper and the dailies….

Yet another merger.. another partnership and what I find impressive is the clear stake of each in the talked about deal . However this partnership is not only about money it is also about capturing the market and creating opportunities for the business. It is about the benefit of each member and to make sure that the traffic of benefit is two way. It may be a major step by RCOM to step ahead from the local competition to the global competition but then competition just gets fierce where in the expectations is not only from the customers but also the stakeholders.

Merger is not always about growing it is also about reduction of the redundant. The one who face the brunt of it are somewhere the cause of success but In this era of globalization there is no dearth of talent and nor of the talent seekers …. May the world maintain the progressive nature and we have our job to earn our livelihood.

Life and sensex ................................

I feel i can understand what it feels to be sensex index ...sometimes high sometimes low .... sometimes great heights with a reason beyond my comprehension and sometimes unseemingly high volatility with no particular fault of mine ......when I take the repercussion of the global economic turmoil even though the local economy shows promising signs of growth and further scared seeing the rising crude oil prices .....

Life feels like the sensex index dipping rising part of the same story ..... Sentiments of the world rule my existence .... Policies suck the money out of the system and fail each time to curb the menace of the much talked about inflation ..... So many troubles in such a small life ,.... that is when I wonder what it is to be a stable with no fears ....

Life is like a mutual fund ... depends how balanced your portfolio is :D :D .... a mix of interpersonal , work , spiritual and intellectual blend .....

Quite a food for thought .....
